in the middle composed of smaller floral and organic shapes. This shape
is surrounded by a red field, and bordered by more floral patterns.
This rug has several patterns leading up to the border where the top and
bottom end with a subtle cream colored fringe.
Kayseri is a city in Turkey that is famous for silk rugs with "intricate
designs, soft texture, and fine weaving". The city of Kayseri was
located along the silk road which influenced the material and designs of
textiles in this area. These rugs tend to have floral motifs, and are
known for their artistic beauty.
