This is a Ziegler Mahal Antique rug made circa 1880s. This rug exhibits several different floral patterns both in the center field and on the surrounding borders. This rug is quite colorful however it is beautifully balance with its well used placement of light blue, yellow, green, and a bright red that ties all the shades together.

Ziegler Mahal carpets were produced by the British-Swiss Company Ziegler & Co. This style often features an ornate floral center and a lightly colored field. They are considered to be among the finest early 19th-20th century carpets.
