This is a Haji Jalili Tabriz rug circa 1880s, means it comes from some of the most high-quality mill/houses of its time. It displays exquisite earth tones such as tan, reddish browns, and burnt sienna. Its main field has 5 diamond geometric shapes and inside each a small delicate floral pattern. If you look at the main field closely you will also see rows of what looks like unique symbols similar to scripture. There are several columns each with their own individual pattern that make up the border.
This rug is made with top quality hand spun natural dyed wool and is in great condition for being about 150 years old.
