This
is an antique Samarkand rug from east Turkistan. Samarkand rugs can be
distinguished from other rugs through their style, which is an
amalgamation of techniques from the west to China.
The
central design of this Samakand rug is two stylized diamonds that cut
the rug into geometric shapes that are made up of botanical designs.
Using a palette consisting of different shades of red and earthy colors
like brown and green this rug has a dynamic feel.
