This
is a Turkish Beaulieu Oushak rug made in the 19th century. Oushak rugs
originate from the city of Usak, Turkey and use a particular family of
designs that consist of dyes that lean towards: cinnamons, terracotta
tints, gold, blues, greens, ivory, saffron and grays.
This
area has been a major rug producer since the early Ottoman Empire and
late 20th century.
This rug employs earthy colors like soft tans, cinnamons, faded blues,
and rusted orange. The design of this rug consists of geometric
medallions that fall on an abstracted field of flowers which is framed
by a stylized border.
